Why is regenerative braking reduced?

Regeneration varies by vehicle and conditions. A very full battery or extreme temperatures can limit it without indicating a permanent fault.

What it may indicate

  • The vehicle regenerates less than under normal conditions
  • A reduced-regeneration message appears
  • Deceleration behavior changes unexpectedly

What to check

  • Check battery state of charge, temperature and driving settings
  • Confirm whether the behavior is documented by the manufacturer
  • Diagnose brakes and electrical systems if a warning persists

When to prioritize an inspection

If conventional braking also changes, a red brake warning appears or pedal behavior is abnormal, prioritize immediate inspection.
