I thought these were meant to go under your feet, so I naturally assumed my weight would rest on them. Why, then, do they have such deep ridges on top? Even with a cushioned insole placed on top, they are incredibly painful!
And it gets worse—I’m not even putting my full weight on them! I’m using one inside a medical boot to keep my ankle at a steeper angle, so the only pressure on my foot comes from the boot itself. I’m relying on crutches, so my weight isn’t on my foot at all.
I can’t fathom how excruciating these would be if I were actually walking on them. I ended up buying some thick saddle leather to create my own insole to remedy the situation.

Provides a noticeable height boost, though it could offer a bit more support similar to Dr. Scholl’s. It’s not overly uncomfortable, but comfort can vary based on the shoe you pair it with. Overall, a worthwhile purchase.

These fit perfectly in my size 10 shoes, but the top pattern is quite bothersome. You eventually adapt, but they’re definitely less comfortable than smooth-topped insoles. Ribbed insoles aren’t ideal for comfort. It’s a questionable design choice.

I gained an inch in my left leg due to joint replacements, and I use these inserts in my right shoe to address my leg length discrepancy. Out of the three types I’ve tried, these are my favorite. They provide lift throughout the foot rather than just in the heel, making them the most comfortable option. I use both the left and right lifts; I simply flip the left one to use it in my right shoe.
As of 8/2018, after wearing these for a couple of years, I’ve noticed they do compress a bit. If your leg length discrepancy is 1″, they might not offer quite enough lift. I recently had another joint replaced on my “short” side, which added about a quarter inch, bringing my discrepancy down to approximately 3/4″. I plan to try these inserts again to see if they provide the right height.
It’s worth noting that for those of us using a single lift in one shoe to correct leg length discrepancies, any insert made from soft gel material is likely to compress over time. They remain very comfortable, and to compensate for the difference, you could add a small 1/4″ heel lift, like the felt ones sold by Hapad or any other 1/4″ heel lift, alongside this insert.

These inserts are great and have really helped me out. I don’t need extra height, but I do want to keep my pants off the ground. I use them to raise my feet slightly when wearing flat shoes or sneakers, which makes pants that fit well with mid-heel shoes or boots the perfect length for my flats.

Frustrated with spending $10, $12, or even $15 on flimsy insoles from local stores, I decided to try these, and I’m so glad I did! My main goal was to find an insole that wouldn’t slide around and become ineffective after a few months, rather than looking for additional height.
I wear size 11 wide or extra wide shoes with orthotics, so I ordered the Large size insole. They fit perfectly in my shoes with no need for cutting or adjustments. I simply took them out of the package, slipped them in, and started wearing them. The difference was noticeable right away! I experienced a slight boost in height, but more importantly, the overall comfort of my shoes improved significantly.
Most of my shoes are lace-ups, so they handled the height increase well, but adding these insoles to my slip-on shoes made them a bit tight due to the orthotics. As a result, I don’t wear my Sunday shoes as often. Now, I can’t imagine going anywhere without them!
I’ll be ordering more soon, and I highly recommend these insoles solely for the comfort they provide. Plus, my wife is interested in trying them in her shoes too!
Update: I’ve purchased these several times since my initial review, and I can confidently say they are worth every penny. They last a long time, and I use them in almost all of my shoes now.

I think there’s been a mix-up. I ordered a women’s small size but received a large men’s size instead. I’m not sure how this happened. Unfortunately, I didn’t check the product closely and attempted to alter it to fit, but it didn’t work with any of my shoes.
