I’ve had my eye on the Frye Paige boots for quite a while and finally decided to make the purchase. My hesitation was due to two main factors: the high price of Frye boots and my short calves. My calf measurement is about 15.25″ from heel to the back of my knee, and since the Paige boots have a shaft height of 16″, I thought a difference of just 0.75″ wouldn’t be an issue. However, I was mistaken. The top front of the boot dug into my knee with every step, making it very uncomfortable.
Despite the fit, I was impressed by the beauty of the boots and the great deal I got, so returning them wasn’t an option. I searched online for a solution and discovered heel increase insoles! I opted for the 2″ version to give me a bit more height, even though I only needed 1″ to address the calf issue. My only worry was whether my feet would fit into the boots with the insoles, but thankfully, they did! The boots I chose were half a size larger than my usual size, so they felt snug but not tight in the foot and ankle areas.
After wearing them for half a day, I found them to be quite comfortable. It felt like there were hidden wedges inside the boots. I was stable the entire time, and my feet didn’t hurt at all by the end of the day. I highly recommend these boots. With the 2″ heel insert, they fit comfortably, and visually, you can’t tell at all that I have insoles in them.

These inserts are decent for what they are. While they provide a nice boost in cushioning with one or two layers, don’t expect exceptional comfort if you max them out. Wearing all four layers can take some getting used to and may lead to discomfort during long periods of wear. Additionally, they tend to wear out fairly quickly, usually lasting only a month or two with regular use. I’ve purchased several pairs, and they consistently thin out over time. The padded air tube often disconnects, leaving me limping until I can fix it. I’ve started taping them securely in advance to avoid this issue. They are a good value for the price and do add height, but don’t count on them lasting very long.

If you have narrow feet, these might be a good fit for you. Unfortunately, I have wide feet, and my feet spill over the edges, making it uncomfortable to walk in them for extended periods. I tested all three strips, but there’s no way to wear them comfortably unless you have oddly shaped boots. I started with just one strip; it’s not terrible except for the discomfort from the narrowness. They measure less than 3.5 inches wide, while my feet exceed 4.5 inches. I might consider trimming the front to see if that helps. Even with just the main sole, I feel like my heel sits too high in my boots.

I had a Tinder date where the first thing the girl said was, “Oh, I thought you’d be taller,” and she said it in a dismissive way. Not long after, she made an excuse to leave and never contacted me again. That was tough to handle, but I want to emphasize that I’m 180cm tall, which is considered tall in many places and above average in others. The only country where this might be average is the Netherlands, but in no place is it considered short.
The reality is that shallow individuals will never be satisfied. If they date someone who’s 6’4″, anyone shorter will be deemed short in their eyes. Similarly, if a girl has been with a billionaire, she might see a millionaire as poor. So, steer clear of those who only value looks. If someone doesn’t want to be with you because of your height, financial status, or any other reason, take it as a blessing. A genuine partner will love you for who you are, regardless of superficial factors. Embrace your height and don’t let anyone else’s opinions affect your self-worth.

My Nike sneakers fit perfectly, but with other shoes, my foot tends to slip out, making walking difficult. Overall, the product is effective; you just need to find the right footwear to go with it.

As a guy who stands at 5’4″ (162cm), my height has always been a concern for me. I decided to try these height-increasing inserts to feel a bit taller when my wife, who is the same height, wears heels. I was aware that height-increasing products can be hit or miss, especially those that elevate the heel, which often come with discomfort. In the past, I bought shoes with a 2.5″ (6.5cm) lift, and they were incredibly uncomfortable—bulky, unappealing, and noisy, making me feel like I was stomping into an old Western saloon. Plus, wearing them for more than an hour left me with shin splints for days.
However, I was pleasantly surprised by these inserts. They feel comfortable on my feet and heels, especially in loafers, sneakers/trainers, and boots. The Stage 1 and 2 inserts are significantly more comfortable compared to other options I’ve tried. Stage 1 works well with sneakers and boots, but it doesn’t perform as well with loafers. Stage 2 is decent for high-top sneakers and boots, but Stages 3 and 4 are not usable with sneakers at all. With Stage 3, my heel was level with the shoe opening, and with Stage 4, my heel and the lifter were completely outside the shoe—walking was impossible.
I thought Stages 3 and 4 might work better in boots due to extra room, but the pressure on the top of my foot was so intense that I worried my toes would go numb. In laced boots, the bulging tongue and laces made it look like I had a serious issue. This product offers various riser options, but I recommend sticking to the 2-stage inserts. If you want an affordable, comfortable way to gain height, the value for stages 1 and 2 is solid, but keep your expectations realistic—no insert will be as comfortable as not wearing one. For a moderate height increase of 1.2″-2″ (3cm-5cm), go for the $12.99 2-layer version. If you’re after a more significant lift, consider height-increasing boots or save up for surgery, as anything over a 2″ increase with insoles will likely lead to discomfort and wasted money.
